Patriots HC Bill Belichick is truly the master head coach, plain and simple.

The pairing of quarterback Tom Brady and head coach Bill Belichick has garnered most of the credit for the New England Patriots’ dynasty, and rightfully so. During that span, they won a whopping six championships, appeared in eight consecutive AFC Championships from 2011 to 2018, and posted 19 straight winning seasons, a streak that is still active.

What doesn’t get enough recognition for New England’s reign of success, however, is the seamless transition the franchise makes while preparing assistant coaches for new roles after others have departed.

Well, speaking to reporters on Friday, Belichick addressed coaching turnover and how it actually adds a different perspective to his philosophy. The answer he provided really hit the nail on the head in terms of underlining his brilliance.

If this doesn’t prove why the 68-year-old is tabbed the GOAT of NFL coaching, then nothing does. Not only has his schematic adaptability helped him stay ahead of the rest league and on top of the coaching world for the last 19 years, but the extent to which he keeps the rest of his staff on their toes and prepared for change is just as important.

In most cases, coaching turnover would ransack a franchise. At the very least, it normally sets a team back a few years. Not the Patriots, who will have to replace arguably the greatest offensive line coach of the last 25 years in Dante Scarnecchia, who retired this offseason after spending 36 years in the NFL.

Anybody want to bet that the Patriots offensive line doesn’t miss a beat in 2020? If history has taught us anything, it’s that the legendary head coach has a contingency plan in place for the potential departures of each of his assistants. The fact that he almost welcomes this change to obtain new knowledge is why he’s the greatest of all time.
