Patriots QB Cam Newton looked awesome in the team’s latest photo shoot.

Fans in New England likely started the countdown to Cam Newton’s debut with the Patriots as soon as he signed with the franchise in late June. After all, mitigating the sour taste of Tom Brady’s departure as soon as humanly possible has to be high, if not tops, on the priority list for them.

Even though the Patriots’ first game of 2020 — assuming the NFL regular season is played and starts on time — is still a little over a month away (Sept. 13), fans will be thrilled to hear that their first official practice of training camp will take place on Wednesday.

What’s equally as intriguing? The just-released results from New England’s latest photo shoot, and folks, let’s just say that Newton looks pretty freaking awesome in our colors. Confirmed.

We might be biased, but doesn’t the 31-year-old quarterback just look perfect in Patriots threads? And look at that hair! We understand a helmet’s necessary, but … man, very tempting.

When a superstar switches teams after a long tenure with another franchise, the uniform reveal is normally solid evidence in determining whether it will be a good fit. Think about how many times you’ve cringed after looking at a superstar in another uniform for the first time.

That simply isn’t the case with Newton. Based on the team’s initial headshots and this latest photo shoot, it’s pretty clear that the the former MVP is where he belongs. We didn’t think that coronation was possible prior to 2020, but Brady leaving in free agency opened the door for another gunslinger to assume that mantle.

Based on Newton’s unwavering motivation to propel himself back into the conversation of the NFL’s top tier of quarterbacks, we truly wouldn’t want anybody else taking the reins from the six-time champion.

These next 32 days are going to drag on, aren’t they?
