Jets Wide Receiver Jermaine Kearse

The Jets overhauled their wide receiver corps this offseason. Veterans such as Eric Decker and Brandon Marshall were shown the door in a roster tear down. Right before the regular season began, the Jets acquired Jermaine Kearse from the Seattle Seahawks. He became the Jets de facto No. 1 wide receiver and he has responded well.

Kearse has been solid for the Jets thus far this season. He is their leading receiver, catching 22 passes for 220 yards and three touchdowns. He gives Josh McCown a good chain mover on the outside, someone with reliable hands that he can count on when he needs a first down.

In a game projected to be as high scoring as this one, Kearse could be busy. The game flow could play a part, but a big factor is the Patriots inability to stop opposing passing games. New England is currently ranked last in passing yards allowed, surrendering 323 yards per game. They have also given up a league-worst 12 passing touchdowns.

That means Kearse could have a great afternoon. Eight wide receivers have already recorded double-digit fantasy points thus far, including two over 22 points. Kearse has been a WR2 in fantasy this season, and that should continue this weekend against the Patriots leaky defense.
