The New England Patriots are fortunate to have Chris Hogan under salary in 2016, as it looks like the former Buffalo Bills wide receiver will be an integral part of their aerial attack plans.

Patriots fans have become familiar with Hogan over the past four years. In fact, Hogan has more receptions playing against the Patriots (17) as well as yards (181) than he has against any other team. Hogan caught a touchdown pass at the Patriots’ expense last season.

However, now that he’s in New England, Hogan will be presented with more opportunities to grow and produce. Unlike in Buffalo, Hogan will be playing alongside a bunch of receiving threats, ranging from Julian Edelman to Rob Gronkowski and Martellus Bennett, not to mention Danny Amendola, James White and Malcolm. While you could twist those words and say that Hogan will have too many targets to compete with, the fact of the matter is that Hogan will likely be matched up in desirable battles, which should entice Jimmy Garoppolo and Tom Brady to find him and use him.

3 ripple effects of Nate Washington release

Speaking of Hogan and Brady, my personal favorite Patriots beat man Mike Reiss penned a great piece detailing the burgeoning connection between Brady and Hogan. Evidence of this growing chemistry occurred last Friday night, when Brady and Hogan were on the exact same page before the snap and during the 33-yard touchdown No. 12 tossed to No. 15. Great stuff.

3 reasons why Aaron Dobson will make Patriots final roster

At 6-foot-1, 220 pounds, Hogan is a relatively big body in the Patriots’ receiving corps. In fact, only Aaron Dobson stands above Hogan at 6-foot-3. It will be nice to have that kind of size on the outside, something the Patriots sorely lacked last season once Dobson went down with injury.

Count this writer in as a huge fan of Hogan. Early indications are that he will be a much better pillage from the Buffalo Bills than Scott Chandler was last year…
