CORNERBACK

1. Malcolm Butler

2. Logan Ryan

3. Cyrus Jones

4. Justin Coleman

5. Cre’Von LeBlanc

Obviously, Butler and Ryan were shoo-ins from the start of training camp, and Jones and Coleman weren’t far behind them; Jones on account of his being the Patriots’ top draft pick, and Coleman on account of his being the Patriots’ best No. 3 corner last season. It’s unclear if Jones is going to unseat Coleman as the starting nickel corner. Certainly, that will be an in-roster battle to keep an eye on as we near Week 1. But the Patriots are lucky to have four solid corners, as you just can’t have enough good corners in today’s NFL.

Moving down the Patriots depth chart at cornerback, LeBlanc is the leading horse for the No. 5 job. As evidenced by his team-leading 59 snaps on Friday night, Bill Belichick and the Patriots are very interested to see what the Florida Atlantic product can do. LeBlanc may not have the best measurables in terms of athleticism and the like, but he has shown well all preseason and should beat out fellow undrafted rookie Jones and sophomore pro Roberts.
