OFFENSIVE LINE

Tackles: Nate Solder, Marcus Cannon, LaAdrian Waddle, Cameron Fleming

Guards: Joe Thuney, Josh Kline, Jonathan Cooper, Ted Karras

Center: David Andrews

With Tre’ Jackson and Shaq Mason set to start the season on the PUP, the Patriots are a bit thinner at guard than they would like to be, but Thuney and Kline are two solid starters. Thuney may be a rookie but he has played like a seasoned veteran since the first whistle of training camp, at times looking like the Patriots’ best offensive lineman. Meanwhile, Kline was the most consistently healthy out of the Patriots’ blockers last year, missing only two games.

3 standouts from preseason win over the Panthers

What is worrisome is the thin depth at tackle, especially now that Sebastian Vollmer will be missing the foreseeable future. Hopefully, Cannon keeps up the good work at right tackle; he was solid on Friday night against the Panthers.

In the wake of the Bryan Stork trade, Andrews owns the starting center job; Thuney and Karras provide depth at that position in case Andrews gets hurt.
