Here’s the other undrafted rookie corner the Patriots acquired in May; Jones has proven to be the best out of the trio, and thus he gets ranked above LeBlanc and Bentley. Not only is Jones extremely fast and athletic, but he has displayed excellent coverage fundamentals. Against the Saints, Jones made a sweet play in his own end zone, twirling around at the perfect time to face the incoming pass instead of drawing a pass interference penalty like many NFL cornerbacks make the mistake of doing in that situation.

Right now, roster chances promising for the Auburn product as long as he keeps up the good work in the coming Patriots preseason practices and games. A top four cornerback group of Malcolm Butler, Logan Ryan, Cyrus Jones and this Jones is fine with this writer. And then let E.J. Biggers, Justin Coleman and LeBlanc fight for the final spot.
