3. Week 8, 2014

From a purely statistical standpoint, this was LaFell’s best game as a Patriot. LaFell’s stat line of 11 receptions, 124 yards and a touchdown was instrumental in the Patriots’ 51-23 shellacking of a hapless Chicago Bears team on this sunny October afternoon.

It should be noted, as well, that LaFell caught all 11 passes Brady threw his way in this game. As the 2014 season grew on, LaFell increasingly gained more of Brady’s trusted, and this outstanding performance is certainly evidence of that.

As a member of the Panthers, LaFell had previously lost all three games he’d played against the Bears. In that action, he’d caught just eight passes for 146 yards, so you can bet that LaFell was ecstatic to have some success in this midseason game.
