Yesterday afternoon, it seemed like New England Patriots news was developing every ten minutes. Four noteworthy events occurred, and we here at Musket Fire have it all broken down for you.

Must-read: Get to know Leonard Johnson

4. LeGarrette Blount placed on injured reserve

It appears that Blount has suffered the same type of hip injury that plagued Chandler Jones’ 2014 season so much.

Blount was having a very solid season up to this point, flirting with the 1,000-yard mark having accumulated 703 rushing yards with three games to go. If not for the unfortunate timing of this injury, Blount may have become the first Patriots running back to pass the millennium mark since Stevan Ridley did it back in 2012.

Analysis: Life without LeGarrette Blount, Dominique Easley

The Patriots are going to miss Blount, as he is one of the best north-south downhill ball carriers in the league. You can always count on Blount to pick up another yard or two after initial contact.

Without Blount in the lineup, the Patriots will be leaning heavier on Brandon Bolden. They also might activate the player they just signed to the practice squad, as you will read about in the next slide…
