Bears 31 Dolphins 21
The Bears can’t get caught looking ahead to their week eight matchup with the Patriots, because they will have their hands full with Miami. Look for Chicago to establish the ground game early so they can neutralize that great Dolphins’ pass rush, and then attack the secondary later on with their excellent receiving corps.
Saints 20 Lions 17
New Orleans is coming off a much needed bye week, and they will net their first road win of the season against Matthew Stafford and company. With Calvin Johnson most likely out, Stafford won’t be able to outscore Brees, even though Detroit has a very good defense to lean on. If the Saints can hold off that strong defensive front, they will win this game.
Packers 30 Panthers 17
Aaron Rodgers is hitting his stride, and the Panthers defense simply won’t be able to keep up. Carolina was one of the favorites to have a disappointing season, and based off what we have seen thus far, that is exactly what is happening.
Chargers 27 Chiefs 13
San Diego is one of the best squads in the league right now, largely because of their excellent balance on the offensive and defensive sides of the ball. That stout defense will stymie the Chiefs’ ground game, force Alex Smith to throw the ball, and that is where they win this game. Phillip Rivers has another solid day to lead the Chargers to the big win.
Cardinals 24 Raiders 6
Another day, another loss for Oakland. I think the Raiders are the current front-runners for the first pick in the 2015 draft, and a meeting with a hot Arizona squad won’t make things any easier for them. Derek Carr throws four interceptions, and two of them are returned for touchdowns. Carson Palmer also throws the first Cardinals’ pick of the year.
Cowboys 28 Giants 10
Dallas’ running game is on fire right now, and the Giants’ 17th ranked run defense won’t do a single thing to slow them down. The Cowboys’ offensive line will be the MVP of this one, as they cruise to an easy divisional victory.
Broncos 27 Niners 26
Peyton Manning will break the touchdown record, and then he will break the hearts of Niner fans across the country. San Francisco’s defense will bottle Denver’s offense up for the majority of the game, but Manning breaks out in the fourth quarter, throwing two late touchdowns to Emmanuel Sanders to steal a win at home.
Steelers 17 Texans 14
I don’t have much faith in either of these teams, but I’m taking Ben Roethlisberger over Ryan Fitzpatrick every day of the week. J.J. Watt is a freak, but he needs a lot more help to make the Texans contenders again.
