Today is the day. By 4 PM ET, the New England Patriots roster must be slashed down the 53 players.

Here is a final Patriots roster prediction piece with accompanying thoughts for each player as the preseason comes to an end:

QB Jimmy Garoppolo – roster lock from the beginning due to the Tom Brady situation.

QB Jacoby Brissett – beneficiary of Brady’s suspension, has shown well over preseason, especially in his flawless third outing.

RB LeGarrette Blount – will be crucial to wholistic offensive success if he can be a consistent threat on the ground.

RB James White – the top pass catching back until Dion Lewis gets activated from PUP list.

RB Brandon Bolden – a versatile Patriot if there ever was one, and also a depth ball carrier when needed.

RB James Develin – snowplow for Blount and others.

RB D.J. Foster – showed well enough in preseason finale despite fumble to make the team. Bill loves this kid.
