The Patriots open 2016 in 74 days, so today we’re profiling the multiple owners of the No. 74 jersey: veteran offensive tackle Keavon Milton and undrafted rookie defensive tackle Woodrow Hamilton.

Milton

Size: 6-foot-4, 293 pounds

College: Louisiana-Monroe

2015 stats: None

NFL experience: Three seasons

Hometown: Canton, TX

Originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the New Orleans Saints back in 2013, Milton has bounced around the league over the past three years. He appeared in eight games for the Cleveland Browns in 2013 before heading northwest to play one game for the Seattle Seahawks en route to a loss in Super Bowl XLIX.

Two months after the Seahawks released Milton at the beginning of training camp, the Patriots signed the journeyman offensive tackle. Milton has since been signed to a futures contract and will duke it out in training camp with the likes of Marcus Cannon, Cameron Fleming and LaAdrian Waddle for the backup spots behind Nate Solder and Sebastian Vollmer.

Hamilton

Size: 6-foot-3, 320 pounds

College: Ole Miss

2015 stats: 12 starts (12 games), 30 tackles, sack

NFL experience: Rookie

Hometown: Raleigh, Miss.

As for Hamilton, well, he faces a steep uphill battle to even make the practice squad. You see, the Patriots are pretty well spoken for already at defensive tackle with Malcom Brown, Alan Branch, Terrance Knighton, Vincent Valentine, Markus Kuhn and Joe Vellano currently on the depth chart.

Power ranking offseason cornerback additions

Hamilton must stand out early and often in training camp to pole vault over some of those players. He could very well outperform Vellano and Kuhn and still get cut, speaking realistically.

Next: An interesting fact about each offseason addition

Because there is no No. 73 currently on the Patriots’ roster, this series takes a break tomorrow. But be sure to stop by Musket Fire on Friday as we mark 72 days until the Patriots open 2016 by profiling No. 72, veteran defensive end addition Frank Kearse.
