The Musket Fire staff are putting on our prognostication hats, staring into the Musket Fire crystal ball, and predicting the winners each week throughout the NFL season. Contributing writer Ryan Hannable and I are making the game picks, so feel free to pick against us in the Comments section. Last week, I was 9-4 in my picks, pushing my record to 80-35 on the season, while Ryan was also 9-4, pushing his record to 50-34 on the season.

Let’s get right to the picks from Ryan and I, including our pick for the Patriots-Giants game…

Put It In The Bank

  • JP: Falcons over Colts: The Colts are just awful. “Suck for Luck” is in full effect.
  • RH: 49ers over Redskins: The 49ers have the second best record in the league and are coming off of their bye, while the Redskins are coming off a blow out loss to the Bills and are struggling of late.

Upset Special

  • JP: Giants over Patriots. The Giants have the fourth-best pass offense is the NFL, and Eli Manning is hot. The Giants have the most sacks in the NFL. They have what it takes to beat the Pats on both sides of the ball. This is not the team the Pats can bounce back from last week against.
  • RH: Jets over Bills. You would never think this would be an upset pick, but with the Bills leading the AFC East, this year it is. The Jets are playing good football of late, and I think its time for the Bills to return to being the Bills.
