With the 2025 season rapidly approaching, Madden 26 is appropriately releasing on August 14. Last season, the opportunity to use Drake Maye was reason enough for Patriots fans to buy the game, but a new rookie is impressing in the game's newest edition.
Fourth overall selection Will Campbell was rated a 79 overall in the new game, fifth among rookies. The four players above him are as talented, but only two were selected earlier than he was. Travis Hunter comes in at an 84, Ashton Jeanty at an 83, and Abdul Carter and Mason Graham come in at 81 and 80, respectively.
The rookies are ready to make some noise!

Campbell's top attributes are impressive. He sports an 87 strength rating, a 90 injury rating (higher is better), and has speed and agility ratings of 73 and 71, both high for an offensive lineman.
For further context, Campbell would have been the joint best in last year's class for Madden 25 ratings. Marvin Harrison Jr. and Joe Alt each also received 79 overalls. Offensive Rookie of the Year Jayden Daniels and Drake Maye received 74 overalls to open the season, while first overall pick Caleb Williams started as a 76.
The Patriots 2025 draft class could be their best group in many years
While Campbell's overall is impressive, it shouldn't come as a big surprise. He was very successful as a college player for LSU, and the expectation is that he will parlay that success into the NFL. An interesting metric to look at is New England's other selections, each of whom also received high ratings.
TreVeyon Henderson's 76 overall slotted him ahead of 11 first-round picks, including first overall Cam Ward and tenth overall selection Colston Loveland. Kicker Andres Borregales also ranked high at a 73, higher than Ward's 72 and Giants QB Jaxson Dart's 68. Four other Patriots also came in above the 70 mark: Kyle Williams (72), Bradyn Swinson (71), Craig Woodson (71), and Joshua Farmer (71).
Third-round center Jared Wilson is a 69, and UDFA Efton Chism III comes in at a 68, the same rating as Saints projected starter Tyler Shough. The Patriots' five rookies rated 70+ is the most in their division, and only the Ravens and Titans have more in the AFC, with six.
The Patriots' future looks bright in real life, and that's reflected in Madden 26. The game comes out August 14, and I, for one, am excited to use Drake Maye, Will Campbell, and all the other young stars on the revamped Patriots squad.
