Super Bowl 60 will be one game that New England Patriots will want to forget quickly. The same goes for the team themselves, as they lost 29-13 to the Seattle Seahawks.

If there was one player who would probably like to burn the game tape, it's rookie offensive tackle Will Campbell. Tasked with fending off the Seahawks' relentless defense, Campbell struggled mightily, allowing 14 pressures the entire game. That is officially the most ever allowed by a player in a playoff game since 2018. After Super Bowl 60, Campbell refused to speak with reporters.

As the team lamented the blowout loss, Doug Kyed of the Boston Herald detailed what he saw (subscription required), and one notable thing was Campbell being comforted by veteran offensive tackle Morgan Moses. The veteran offered advice to the rookie after the bad outing while speaking with reporters.

“I told him I’ve never seen a rookie come in and play the way he played at left tackle,” Moses said, h/t Kyed. “The sky’s the limit for him, man. He has the opportunity to look back and rest a little bit and get himself back working out. For a rookie to go out there and play left tackle all the way to the Super Bowl and do an amazing job and still have room to grow, he’s the guy.”

Morgan Moses comforts Will Campbell after rough Super Bowl 60 performance

Campbell has been the player fans have pointed the finger of blame towards, considering what the stat sheet reads. But realistically, anyone lining up against the Seahawks defense was going to have a miserable time. Look at the San Francisco 49ers, who were blown out 41-6 by the Seahawks in the Divisional Round.

However, Campbell is facing the scrutiny considering he was selected fourth overall in the 2025 NFL Draft, with the expectation that he could protect quarterback Drake Maye's blindside for years to come. He was an integral part to their rebuild, which accelerated due to the success the team had this year.

In the regular season, Campbell allowed 26 total pressures, five sacks, and five quarterback hits on 782 snaps, while also being penalized seven times, according to Pro Football Focus. In the three playoff games before Super Bowl 60, Campbell allowed 11 pressures, three sacks, and one quarterback hit.

Of course, fans are going to pinpoint this game as a reason why they think he isn't the answer at left tackle. But as Moses, says, there is still room for him to grow. Let's be honest, it's rare for a rookie left tackle to be perfect in their first year in the NFL. It's ultimately up to Campbell and the coaching staff to make sure he is able to put this game behind them and make sure he takes the adequate steps in his pro development.
