The Patriots are set to have a second home game in a row this week, as they welcome the Texans for their Week 6 matchup on Sunday. Perhaps the most exciting part about the game is the official starting debut of rookie quarterback Drake Maye, who head coach Jerod Mayo announced would be replacing Jacoby Brissett under center for the rest of the year.

On top of it all, the Patriots will be donning their red throwback jerseys this week, the first time of the season. It always seems to bring out an excitement from the players when it's throwback week, so hopefully that will be the case again on Sunday.

It's not expected to be an easy day for the Patriots whatsoever, especially the offense as they line up against a very good pass rush. Fortunately, they are expected to put out the same offensive line grouping as last week, the first time this season they are able to do that.

It couldn't come at a better time now that Maye will be leading the offense. Bringing some consistency and continuity to the lineup is even more crucial now with a rookie under center.

Ron Torbert will be the head official for Sunday's game will be Ron Torbert, who began his NFL career in 2010 and became a referee in 2014.

He last officiated a Patriots game when they faced off against the Raiders in the now infamous botched lateral pass game by Jakobi Meyers leading to turning the ball over and the Raiders stealing the win instead of taking the game into overtime.

So far in 2024, he has been on hand for some of the highest-scoring games of the season, including last week's overtime thriller between the Falcons and the Bucs. Fortunately, he and his crew appear to be calling penalties fairly evenly so far, with 34 flags called on the home team and 33 on the visitors.
