The Patriots are in the midst of preparing for their second matchup with the Jets this season and are continuing to deal with a long list of injuries to further complicate an already challenging year. The injuries appear to be piling up more than players are healing, so seeing quarterback Drake Maye's name pop up two weeks ago drew rightful concerns about the state of the roster.

The rookie reportedly dealt with a knee injury sustained during practice or his season debut against the Texans in Week 6, with little clarity on when it might have happened. Rumors swirled suggesting he underwent an MRI, which caused chaos in New England since most players don't receive that type of treatment for a serious deemed not severe.

Fortunately, the injury didn't appear to impact his performance during practice or in the Patriots Week 7 game against the Jaguars last Sunday, and now, he is entirely off the report as they prepare to take on the Jets.

It's a significant development considering how important he has become for the offense in such a short amount of time, and I hope several of his teammates will soon follow.

The other positive development is seeing the players fully participating in practice grow longer, especially running back Rhamondre Stevenson. He has been one of the most productive players for the offense this year, which Maye hasn't been fortunate enough to utilize, and he could be crucial in their efforts to beat their AFC East rival on Sunday.

Even those who were limited for Thursday's practice are something to be optimistic about, as they are moving in the right direction, and their availability chances increase as we near their Week 8 game.
