The New England Patriots filled out their roster with five new captains from the beginning of last season. Even so, it seems that players without the "C" on their chest are still looking to be leaders in the locker room. One of such players is K'Lavon Chaisson.
The 26-year-old is no stranger to the NFL. This is his sixth season, after he spent his first four seasons in Jacksonville and last year in Las Vegas. Despite the change of scenery this year, he had a strong preseason and managed a half sack in the team's first game against the Raiders.
The LSU alum is veteran Harold Landry's running mate on the edge, and as a team, the Patriots had a strong four sacks to open the season, joint third most in the league.
On Sunday, he was named an honorary captain and was seen in this clip motivating his teammates after the loss.

“Head high and we learn, that’s it. Head high and we learn. We build from here.”
Chaisson was an honorary captain Week 1 and it is easy to see why — the veteran had a good performance in his debut.

What might this season look like for K'Lavon Chaisson?
Chaisson's trajectory this season will be fascinating to watch. In college, he was no stranger to success: he was a first-round pick and an instrumental piece to the legendary 2019 LSU team. In the NFL, success has been mixed.
He recorded just five sacks in his four years with the Jaguars, but matched that total in his lone season with the Raiders.
Given Anfernee Jennings' being a healthy scratch in Week 1 and Chaisson putting in a solid performance, I'd imagine he'll have plenty of opportunities alongside Landry this season.
I think setting a new career best of six or more sacks is more than reasonable, and if he can continue to be a leader in the locker room, his value is only that much stronger. There are plenty of reasons for fans to be excited about the new addition to the edge.
