Because the biggest needs on the Patriots roster are beyond clear heading into their Week 15 matchup against the Cardinals, the focus on next year's free agency and draft has moved to the forefront of the conversation surrounding the team.

Now that they appear to have their quarterback in Drake Maye, surrounding him with the proper talent is a must, with offensive linemen and wide receivers at the top of the list. They will have plenty to choose from if they hold onto the third overall pick in the 2025 Draft or even if they move up. But what position they will go for first continues to be a debate.

According to the latest mock drafts by analysts and experts, the Patriots are favorites to select Colorado's CB/WR Travis Hunter, who recently won AP's National Player of the Year Award, Bednarik's Defensive Player of the Year and Biletnikoff's Wide Receiver of the Year.

He would be an incredible player for the Patriots to add to their team, especially since he has the duality to help them in two of their weaker spots, and it appears the idea of playing with Drake Maye sounds appealing to more than just the fans.

Travis Hunter sounds like he's interested in joining the Patriots next year

Because the teams with the first two picks in the first round next year both need quarterbacks, the Patriots are the first team on the board who could select the best receiver of the class if they wanted to.

That has inevitably led to Hunter being asked about playing for New England throughout the college football season and has given some great answers to this point.

His latest, however, was not in an interview setting but during a live stream while he was playing video games. Hunter read out a comment from a fan in the chat who asked him about playing with Drake Maye, to which the receiver replied with an intrigued answer that will have Patriots fans crossing their fingers that the team makes it happen in April.

It's a short and sweet clip and not very detailed, but it's not necessarily his answer that makes it noteworthy.

Unlike an interview, Hunter decides what questions to answer. He chose to read this one out loud and respond to it specifically. Of all the things said in the chat during the livestream, he chose to answer this question specifically, which has to mean something, right?

Maybe that's looking too much into it, or perhaps it's right on the nose regarding why he did what he did. Regardless, it's a great sign that adding Maye to the Patriots roster entices players enough to want to play with him, as that will become even more critical over the next few years.
