The 2025 New England Patriots will rely heavily on multiple players on both sides of the ball to achieve success. On defense, players like Christian Barmore, Milton Williams, Harold Landry III, Robert Spillane, and Christian Gonzalez, among others, will be counted on.
On offense, any successful unit will rely on the big guys up front, the offensive line. Coach Mike Vrabel devoted a lot of resources to improving this unit in the offseason. He added several free agent veterans and drafted heavily for the offensive line.
He took Will Campbell with the fourth-overall pick, and he'll start immediately at left tackle. In the third round, he selected Jared Wilson, a center/guard hybrid who just might start, as well. Yet, the key to any NFL offense will always be the quarterback, and the Patriots have an emerging star in Drake Maye. They also signed a No. 1 receiver, Stefon Diggs. A lot will ride on their performances in 2025.
Stefon Diggs' recovery from surgery is looking good, and so are his feelings about his quarterback
Stefon Diggs is recovering from ACL surgery, and that's never an easy chore. Yet, he's been fully cleared for duty in summer camp, and the Patriots couldn't have received much better news. The team has lacked a No. 1 receiver since Julian Edelman retired after the 2020 season. In addition, they had no true No. 2 receiver last season either. The hope is that rookie Kyle Williams will step in there.
The connection between the veteran Diggs and Maye will be critical to the Patriots' fielding a top 2025 offense. So far, things seem to be going well, indeed.
Marc Capello of 98.5 The Sports Hub shared Diggs' latest comments about his second-year quarterback after a recent practice.

That's high praise indeed coming from a four-time Pro Bowl receiver who has seen it all in his 10-year NFL career. While Diggs will be 32 in November, he's still being counted upon to carry a heavy load for the 2025 Patriots, injury or no injury.
The 2025 Patriots offense will sink or swim with Stefon Diggs
No matter how grizzled a veteran Diggs is, he's the Patriots' best receiver by far, and their offensive fortunes will rest to a large extent on how well he recovers from his ACL injury. If he's even at 80 percent, the Patriots offense will be dangerous.
The team added another solid veteran receiver, free agent Mack Hollins, to the room. He's yet to appear in summer camp, but if he's ready to go in September, the Patriots and Maye will have a big, clutch pass-catcher on their hands. Hollins doesn't catch a lot of passes, but those he catches are usually for first downs or touchdowns, aka big plays.
A great draft pick was the Patriots' third-rounder, Washington State wide receiver Kyle Williams. He gives the team a dimension it hasn't had, maybe since Randy Moss, explosiveness. He's a threat to take it to the house on any given play. Added to similarly skilled running back TreVeyon Henderson, the Patriots are poised to take the top off any NFL defense.
With all the other weapons Drake Maye will have at his disposal in 2025, none is more experienced, more skilled, or more able to take an NFL receiving corps on his back than Stefon Diggs. That Diggs has such a high regard for his second-year quarterback is a great sign. If they can link up on the field as well, the sky is the limit for the 2025 Patriots' offense.
