Because the NFL is currently in the midst of its most boring part of the offseason, as every NFL team is on summer break until starting training camp next month, much of the conversation in New England has shifted to the World Cup in recent weeks.

Why is that?

Because several games have been played at what is being referred to as Boston Stadium, and plenty of international fans have flocked to the area to cheer on their respective teams. The most popular of which have become those from Scotland, as their fans temporarily took over the city and went viral in the process.

Their newfound love and appreciation for the city and the way the locals embraced them appears to have made many Scottish football fans into Patriots fans, too, and because of that, Robert Kraft has proposed an idea to the NFL that could make a huge change for future games.

It's something that New England and Scottish fans could get behind, since the team owner hopes to expand the league's international slate to Scotland in the near future.

Robert Kraft wants to see the NFL add another country to their list of international games

After seeing how the Tartan Army became an integral part of Boston over the past few weeks, Kraft couldn't wait to propose including Scotland, as commissioner Roger Goodell has stated he hopes the NFL will have 16 international games a season at some point.

During the 2026 season, the league will play nine games in seven cities: Melbourne, Rio de Janeiro, London, Paris, Madrid, Munich, and Mexico City.

They want to add even more countries to the list, with chatter already being discussed for Ireland and maybe now Scotland, too.

With Kraft's idea, Scotland could become a second home to the Patriots, which might not be ideal for the roster if that means traveling overseas as much as the Jaguars do for London games, but the Tartan Army's popularity would certainly make it fun for the fans.

When this could potentially happen is unclear, and we probably won't know anything definitive until next offseason. But for now, the Patriots have made their position clear and it's hard to argue that Kraft suggested a bad idea.
