Leading into the Patriots season opener against the Bengals last Sunday, there was a lot of focus placed on the injury report specifically for Cincinnati due to the uncertain statuses of star receivers Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins.

It became an especially watched development for New England, whose defense was ready to go no matter who was on the field, but seeing Higgins declared out for the matchup ahead of time was a big win. Then, seeing Chase pop up a day before the game, it seemed like quarterback Joe Burrow would be low on firepower in his home field opener.

Fortunately for the fifth-year quarterback, Chase was on hand for Sunday's game but barely made an impact, thanks to the Patriots' stellar performance overall.

Now the focus shifts to the Seahawks, who come to Foxboro for Week 2 with some big names on their injury report mid-week. It will be something the Patriots will follow over the next few days, especially since one of Seattle's top offensive stars is dealing with an injury that might keep him sidelined for the matchup.

Seahawks' injury report could make the Patriots day much easier in Week 2

The latest updates on the Seahawks roster were posted to NFL.com, and it's not the news that any team would be hoping for this early in the season.

As of Wednesday afternoon, linebacker Uchenna Nwosu has already been ruled out, a big win for the Patriots' offense, which has a shaky offensive line. The seasoned veteran has been one of Seattle's best pass rushers since joining the team in 2022, but injuries have kept him sidelined for the last year.

While that's not great news for Seattle's defense, their offensive troubles seem to be worse. Running back Kenneth Walker III, who has become the epicenter of their game plan over the last two years, is dealing with an abdominal injury and is said to be day-to-day, according to head coach Mike McDonald.

Considering that he recorded 20 carries for 103 yards and a touchdown last week against the Broncos, quarterback Geno Smith relied upon him to help move the chains, so being down Walker is not ideal for Week 2. The same could be said about offensive tackle George Fant, who is also day-to-day with a knee injury.

These are injuries the Patriots will want to monitor, as they could certainly significantly change how the Seahawks' offense performs on Sunday afternoon.
