Week 18: Patriots vs. Jets

The Patriots end the season at home; frankly, the end can’t come quickly enough.

This season has been a disaster on all fronts; injuries have been brutal, and the offensive coordinator trying to reinvent the wheel hasn’t helped. The offensive line has been incredibly poor in the new system, and the failure to use Zeke Elliott, JuJu Smith-Schuster, and Mike Gesicki properly has just been plain embarrassing.

The only good news is the Jets season has been just as heinous. After one play, they lost their superstar quarterback; they suffered injuries on the offensive line that have hampered the offense all year. And, just like the Patriots, they seem set to fire their head coach in January. But Aaron Rodgers could be back for the visitors for this game, making it impossible to pick. A veteran quarterback would definitely boost their offense.

But if the Jets don’t win two of their next three games, then Rodgers may not even play in this game. It promises to be a real defensive slugfest for whoever is playing at quarterback. It’ll be tough to get excited about it and even more challenging to watch.
