3. The starting tackles

I fully trust the interior offensive line in 2023. David Andrews and Mike Onwenu are both top 10 at their respective positions. The Pats' interior is one of the 3-5 best in the entire NFL. However, the one piece of this offensive line that could be great or abysmal are the tackles.

Whatever starting tackle combination you want to use is irrelevant; the truth here is that the tackles need to be at least average in 2023. They were far from that in 2022. The projected starters here seem to be Trent Brown at left tackle and Riley Reiff at right tackle, but that could easily be switched.

Part of Mac Jones bouncing back in 2023 includes him being adequately protected. Again, I have full faith in the interior to keep him upright, but the tackles are what I am worried about. If Jones does indeed have time to throw, he should obviously be in a much better situation than if he was running for his life.

An offensive line of Trent Brown / Cole Strange / David Andrews / Mike Onwenu / Riley Reiff has the potential to be a top-five unit, but they also have the potential to be a bottom-five one as well.
