This is going to be quite the matchup for many reasons. The NFL schedule has not officially been released yet, as all we know so far are the opponents and whether teams are home or away against them.
The Patriots will again battle the Las Vegas Raiders in the 2023 season. Their most recent matchup came in 2022 when the Patriots traveled to their stadium for the matchup. The game ended in one of the most baffling ways I and many of us have ever seen a game end, regardless of sport or level.
Chandler Jones intercepted a "lateral" from Jakobi Meyers, stiff-armed Mac Jones, and took it to the house as time expired. Now, in 2023, the matchup will likely have much more at stake.
We know that the Raiders are coached by Josh McDaniels and between the coaching staff and the front office, the personnel are littered with former Patriots. On the roster side, that is also the case as well. Most notably, the team signed former Patriots' QB Jimmy Garoppolo to a three year deal.
They also signed Jakobi Meyers and have many other former Patriots' players on the roster as well. I'd say that both teams are pretty evenly matched, but the Raiders are boasting quite the core of pass catchers on offense that New England is going to have to deal with.
Davante Adams, Hunter Renfrow, Michael Mayer, Jakobi Meyers, and Josh Jacobs makes up what could be the best offensive skill players in the NFL. However, what the Raiders have on offense, they don't have on defense.
It's the opposite for New England, as they boast much more talent and skill on defense than they do on offense. This will be a fun matchup to look forward to and watch, with potentially a ton at stake.
