Patriots' stud Matthew Judon suffered major injury in Week 4 loss
The New England Patriots 2023 season is currently in the dumps, and an injury to their best player is icing on the moldy cake. This is bad, bad, bad. Sound the alarms. It's time to panic. Not only did the Patriots suffer a horrid loss in Week 4 to the Dallas Cowboys, they may have lost their best player for an extended period of time. Matthew Judon suffered a bicep tear in the loss.
This is a serious injury that could keep him out for the entire season, and could perhaps end his career on the New England Patriots. Judon had one tackle in the loss and was off to another hot start in 2023, notching four sacks in the first three weeks. In fact, Judon had been one of the most productive pass rushers during his career with the Patriots thus far.
If his season is over, Matthew Judon will have had 32 sacks and 62 QB hits in just 38 games. The bigger picture for the team is how this team deals with his loss and what exactly the New England Patriots do next. Nothing seems to be working for this team right now. And guess what; this all falls on the shoulders of head coach and GM, Bill Belichick, who is digging his own grave at this point.
I don't think there is one iota of a chance that he remains HC and GM of the team unless a huge turnaround is orchestrated in 2023. The Patriots have one of the toughest schedules in the NFL this year and have a huge talent deficiency on their roster. It's no secret that the Patriots are bad, and I hate to sound like a knucklehead, but I kept telling people that this was not a good team and that this team lacked the necessary talent to consistently win in 2023.
Sure, the team could turn it around, and I might end up eating my words, but where can we hang our hats with this team? Nothing seems to be working, and now the best player on the roster has suffered a pretty serious injury. It'll be time for guys like Keion White and Josh Uche to step up in Judon's absence.
