Ranking 4 possible quarterback duos for the Patriots after Mac Jones trade
By Ryan Heckman
1. Caleb Williams and Jacoby Brissett
Finally, the pipe dream scenario presents itself. Don't count out the Patriots trading up to no. 1 and taking Caleb Williams. Nobody knows exactly what's going to happen just yet, even though many believe they have an idea.
Williams comes into the league as the best quarterback prospect since Andrew Luck, and he has the chance to be a generational talent. It would only be a Patriots thing to do for the team to land another potential all-time great in Williams after seeing Brady play in New England for so many years. But hey, fans wouldn't complain.
Jacoby Brissett has also been mentioned as a possibility in New England, as a backup, making his return to the Patriots after originally being a third-round pick by New England back in 2016. The journeyman has become one of the better backups in the league and has plenty of starting experience to come with him. Serving as a veteran leader to Williams and someone the rookie could lean on, Brissett would be a phenomenal option to bring back.
