Patriots News: Mac Jones, Matthew Judon, Kenny Pickett and Rhamondre Stevenson
- Bill Belichick won't talk about Mac Jones
- Could Matthew Judon return during the final 5 games of the season?
- Update on Rhamondre Stevenson's injury
Rhamondre Stevenson suffers an ankle injury and is reportedly going to miss some time
As if a loss in a game without a touchdown scored wasn't bad enough, seeing Rhamondre Stevenson leave Sunday's game with an ankle injury put the horrific day over the top. Hearing that he's going to miss multiple weeks the next morning makes it all even worse.
It was immediately clear the second he went down that the running back was hurt, and it was probably something significant. The latest update from MassLive's Mark Daniels confirmed that Stevenson's x-ray came back negative but that the initial diagnosis looks like he suffered an ankle sprain, which will keep him out for weeks.
It has also been reported that Stevenson will undergo an MRI for further testing, which will further determine the severity of the injury and provide a clearer timetable for his possible return. But since the season is basically a wash at this point, would it be worth having him come back?
There are only five games left to be played, and with the only real thing they're playing for now is a higher spot in the draft; keeping Stevenson sidelined seems like what's best for him and the team's future. Who knows if that's what they'll eventually decide, but having him risk further injury in games with no meaning makes little to no sense.
