The Patriots enter their Week 2 matchup with the Seahawks coming off an exciting and unexpected win against the Bengals. They hope to continue defying expectations as their season progresses. The offense looked much more cohesive than projections suggested, and the defense continued its dominance by creating opportunities and shutting down receivers from making any impact on the game.

Now that they're set for the home opener this afternoon, the possibility of adding another win to their schedule is much higher than just one week ago.

It's significant that they were able to limit almost everything the Bengals tried last week, and replicating that against the Seahawks could make for an easy victory to kick off the rest of the 2024 season.

The Patriots have been mostly fortunate regarding injuries so far, with offensive lineman Sidy Sow being the only player dealing with something preventing him from playing.

Hopefully, that will continue since they certainly can't afford to lose anyone else, especially after Chukwuma Okorafor's apparent departure leading up to this matchup. That led to Michael Jordan's elevation from the practice squad yet again, and adds rookie Caedan Wallace into the mix in the Patriots' effort to find the right combination at left guard and tackle.

The absence of Sidy Sow is significant given the Patriots need for stability from their offensive line, but those given the opportunity to fill in for him and Okorafor proved they could handle the job far more than anticipated.

The offensive line was far from perfect against the Bengals, and they'll likely have a tougher time against Seattle's top defensive front. However, the group allowed just four hits on Jacoby Brissett in Cincinnati and no sacks, a feat that would be impressive if replicated on Sunday.

The Seahawks' biggest loss this week is having star running back Kenneth Walker III sidelined, as he has become one of the most productive weapons on their offense over the last two seasons.

He was their primary producer against the Broncos in Week 1, recording 20 carries for 103 yards and the only touchdown of the game for Seattle. Because they are another team that loves to utilize the run game as much as possible, it's a significant loss to have Walker on the sideline.

His absence could lead to a slightly easier day for the Patriots defense, which hasn't thrived in stopping the run over the last few years. They will still have to slow down backup Zach Charbonnet, who has shown he can be explosive, and their dynamic trio of receivers, Tyler Lockett, D.K. Metcalf, and Jaxon Smtih-Njigba.
