According to a report from Boston 25, Patriots defensive back Jack Jones has been arrested Friday evening at Logan Airport. for allegedly attempting to bring two firearms onto a plane.

The firearms were found when Jones tried to bring his carry-on luggage through airport security.

The fourth-round pick from last year's NFL draft faces numerous charges.

The 25-year-old defensive back is facing charges of possessing a concealed weapon in a secure area of an airport, possessing ammunition without a firearm ID, unlawful possession of a firearm, carrying a loaded firearm, and possessing a large capacity feeding device.

Jones posted bail at $50,000 and is scheduled to be arraigned in East Boston district court next week.

Before being drafted in the 2022 NFL Draft, his off-the-field concerns were highly known and discussed, leading to his fall into the fourth round.

The character concerns have continued to loom over him since joining the Patriots, as he had already been arrested, expelled from USC, and suspended at Arizona State University.

His behavior came into question again at the end of last season when news broke he was being suspended for the final game of the year against the Bills.

Although details regarding what led to the suspension have been scarce, and Jones has recently refuted them, it was alleged the cornerback had skipped rehab sessions required by the team and even "talked back" to Bill Belichick when approached about the issue.

During his playing time in his rookie campaign, Jones was a shining young star for the Belichick-led defense. In just his first season, he totaled two interceptions, six pass deflections, and a forced fumble in 13 games played.

Ironically, just over a month ago, Jack Jones tweeted this in regard to the ongoing issues with Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant.

The basketball star just received his lengthy suspension from the NBA for flashing a gun on Instagram Live for the second time in just as many months. Jones tweeted him directly, sharing some words of advice for a fellow young athlete.

Following the arrest, the Patriots have released a statement obtained by Boston 25.

"We have been notified that Jack Jones was arrested at Logan Airport earlier today. We are in the process of gathering more information and will not be commenting further at this time."

What more the team will do is unclear, but with how swiftly the Patriots have moved in the past when problematic situations arise, it wouldn't be shocking to see Jones cut in short order.
