Patriots best case scenario 7-Round mock draft
By Rhys Knott
Second Round, 34th pick – OT Tyler Guyton
The Oklahoma product Guyton is a very large human. According to the official Oklahoma football web page, he is 6 foot 7 inches tall and weighs 328 lbs. But NFL.com lists Guyton’s Combine measurements as 6 foot 8 inches and 322 lbs.
Either way, he will provide a serious physical presence to any offensive line.
Guyton’s size isn’t the only trait that stands out, though. His 9.71 Relative Athletic Score is the 40th-highest score of the 1,330 offensive tackles tested since 1987! Guyton ran a 5.19-second 40-yard dash at the combine, which was in the 65th percentile. But his three-cone drill saw him in the 83rd percentile, and his 34.5-inch vertical jump was in the 98th!
The Patriots hosted the offensive tackle as one of their top 30 prospect visits. But he may not make it to the second round; remember, this is a best-case scenario. Guyton is predicted to be the eighth offensive tackle taken in this class. If the top of the draft becomes as volatile as predicted, the eighth tackle might not be snapped up before the 34th pick.
