5th round: TRADE!

Patriots trade their 2025 5th round pick and the 228th pick to the Bears for the 167th pick

Joe Milton - QB, Tennessee

Joe Milton. So, remember how Anthony Richardson flew up draft boards as the draft approached last year? Well, Milton is that guy in 2024. He actually looks better than Richardson did on tape, and Richardson seemed pretty good on tape.

Milton’s tape looks like a cross between Anthony Richardson (just a little slower) and C.J. Stroud. He’s physically imposing with Stroud’s willingness to take what defenses give him. And that turned out pretty well this season.

After the Senior Bowl, The Draft Network described Milton as “Arguably the most physically gifted quarterback in attendance.” He’s 6 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 244 lbs. (so not very Mac Jones-y).

In the 21 games he played at Tennessee, he threw 32 touchdowns and just five interceptions. And he had a passer rating of 152.4. He also scored seven rushing touchdowns and even caught a pass. The only mystery is why he’s predicted to last until the 5th round.

6th round – 181st pick

Anim Dankwah - OT, Howard

Anim Dankwah is huge. The Canadian is 6 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 368 lbs. So, he’s even bigger than Trent Brown, which isn’t necessarily a positive. But he received the first invitation for a Howard football player in 10 years. He helped his team to back-to-back MEAC regular season Championships.
