Patriots select RB Audric Estime out of Notre Dame with 103rd pick

In 2021, Estime was Kyren Williams's backup. While he isn't an exact replica of Williams, he certainly shares his willingness to flatten defenders. Estime looks like a back who would dovetail very nicely with Rhamondre Stevenson.

Estime doesn’t really have a particular specialty; he’s just very good at everything. He has the speed to avoid linebackers, and he has no shortage of power, either. During his time at Notre Dame, Estime averaged 6.2 yards per carry and 10.7 yards per catch! And he scored 30 touchdowns in three years, 18 of which came last season!

Pass blocking is what separates the good college backs from the ones who succeed in the NFL. But Estime has no problems blocking rushers when they run straight at him.

Understanding where the blitz comes from in pass protection is always a bit hit-and-miss with rookie running backs. But Stevenson excels in that area, so he’d be able to assist him.
