Patriots select Devontez Walker, WR, UNC, with pick No. 68
We know the Patriots have already spoken to him. And despite clocking the fourth fastest 40-yard time amongst receivers, his stock hasn’t risen like Worthy’s has. The third round might be a little high for Walker, but PFF ranks him as the 72nd-best player. The Patriots' third-round pick will be the 68th overall, so they match up well.
Walker only played eight games for North Carolina last season after transferring from Kent State. But he did average 17 yards per catch, and he even had three rushing attempts. He often had to slow down and wait for Drake Maye's passes to arrive.
If he can run routes a little smoother or finds a QB who can throw far enough, he'll be a nightmare to defend.
Devontez Walker can be lethal with his size-speed mix alone, but his instincts provide an additional boon.

Stacks the CB easily off the speed release here, but the deep pass is a little bit short. Watch how patient he is with his adjustment back, preventing the CB from reacting. pic.twitter.com/iotGnobLZu
