In round 2, the Patriots stock up on positions of need

After the trade with Tampa Bay, the Patriots have seven picks in the premium rounds, one through three. That's where the best players are, and Wolf's trade has set them up to bring in the reinforcements they desperately need at multiple positions.

With the Pats' own pick, No. 35, Wolf fills the position he depleted when he traded Judon. He selects Dani Dennis-Sutton, an edge player from Penn State. Here's what thedraftnetwork.com has to say about the 6'5", 265-pound Nitany lion,

"Dani Dennis-Sutton is an alignment-versatile pass rusher with the anchor and athleticism to become an impactful run defender early in his NFL career. Aligned primarily outside the tackle during his time in the Nittany Lions defense, Dennis-Sutton projects as a bit of a tweener at this point in his evaluation due to limited explosiveness and being undersized to slide inside to 3-tech."

With Tampa's second-round pick, No. 43, Wolf seeks to corral a top wide receiver to add to the two he drafted last year. His choice here is Stanford's Elic Ayomanor. profootballnetwork.com has this to say about the 6'2", 210-pound Stanford Cardinal,

"Both as a RAC threat and a contested-catch savant, Ayomanor has some of the most distinct two-phase big-play ability in the 2025 NFL Draft. When the ball is in his hands, he’s strong, explosive, and physical. And when he’s tracking it in the air, he’s proactive, clutch, authoritative, and brings an alpha mentality...Even more exciting about Ayomanor’s tape is the promise of an independent separator. He’s still developing that part of his game, but Ayomanor has great cylindrical twitch, initial foot speed, and flexibility, which he can use to offset, sink, and surge out of breaks.."
