Notorious former Jets quarterback pokes fun at Josh Allen's poor MNF performance
As it has been said many times over the last 36 hours, the Patriots and their fans were paying close attention to the matchup between the Bills and Jets on Monday night, and boy, did they get a show.
Other than the dramatic turn of events that started the game, with Aaron Rodgers suffering what we now know to be a season-ending injury, Josh Allen's poor outing with four total turnovers has become the biggest takeaway from the game.
It also proved the Patriots could have a good shot against their divisional rivals after both teams were considered favorites in the AFC. They'll have their hands full with their defenses, but the same could be said for them regarding New England's stout defenders, too.
Because so much focus was put on Allen's turnovers, with the final one coming late in the fourth quarter, former Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez sent out a hilarious tweet to cap off the game.
Who doesn't love a good reference to the infamous butt fumble? Probably nobody more than Patriots fans, that's for sure.
It was a funny take to have, given the circumstances and knowing how long it took for Sanchez himself to be able to joke about the unforgettable play. And, provided who is the bud end of the joke, it makes it all the funnier for Patriots fans.
Surely, Allen likely won't take too kindly to the witty tweet. But it's all in good fun, and at the end of the day, it's just week one of the NFL season. So much is going to and will change over the next four months, including the trajectory of the Bills, so he shouldn't take too much offense to it.
But for the time being, Patriots fans should enjoy the happenings of the first slate of games, even if they weren't able to come out of it with a win.
