New England Patriots: Three big changes we can see in the next year
3. Patriots angle themselves towards a rebuild

Imagine potentially having to go through this in the 2024 offseason. If 2023 is another lost year, the Patriots might want to take the route of what the Chicago Bears have been doing with a full rebuild. The Houston Texans have been doing the same as well.

This means embracing some very lean years with only a few wins while the roster is slowly reconstructed in hopes they can return to their old selves. We'd likely see some veteran players traded or released, and we'd see the team likely take a completely different approach in free agency for a couple of seasons.

The New England Patriots would then be viewed as one of the worst teams in football, because that's what rebuilding teams are. However, a full rebuild without cutting many corners is sometimes a tough watch for the fans.

If the Patriots don't make the playoffs in 2023, could we see them part with Bill Belichick as the head coach, move on from Mac Jones, and embrace a rebuild?
