Patriots Rumors: 5 trade targets who can help Bill Belichick save the season
By Ryan Heckman
5. Chase Young, DE
Speaking of a total Belichick move, this one would be right on par. If you want a big name that comes with some question marks, look no further than Washington Commanders defensive end Chase Young.
In the last year of his deal and without his fifth-year option utilized, Young is likely headed elsewhere either by the trade deadline or in free agency next year. He has dealt with major injury questions throughout his career but also looks like one of the most explosive pass rushers in the league when he's at his best.
Speaking of being at his best, Young's best was on full display in Week 7 against the Giants. Despite the loss, Young ended with two sacks. He now has 5.0 on the season to go with a whopping 31 pressures, per Pro Football Focus.
The Patriots have struggled getting to the quarterback and have just 13 sacks on the year as a team. To put that in perspective, the Ravens lead the league and have 29.
Young would be that invigorating, extra juice the Patriots' defense needs to get going. When Uche and Young are healthy together, that duo could be phenomenal.
