The Patriots might not have a great roster, but it's solid from top to bottom. How does their under-25 core of players look? One of the best possible things that an NFL team can have going for them on their roster is having young talent.

Young, quality talent sets a team up so nicely for their future. There will come a time where the team won't be able to feed all of the mouths, as players who want certain contracts might have to sign elsewhere to get their money. However, having a ton of talent under-25 years old can give a team a nice window to compete.

Do the Patriots have enough young talent on their roster? Let's take a look at their primary core of players who are under 25 years old.

New England Patriots' roster: Under 25 players on offense and defense
Offense: Kayshon Boutte, Demario Douglas, Tyquan Thornton, Mac Jones, Cole Strange, Bailey Zappe

Unfortunately, the Patriots' offense is not seeping with a ton of young talent, but there is still some there. What is nice to see is that they have under-25 players on offense in a few areas: wide receiver, offensive line, and quarterback.

There is a ton of projection with Boutte, Douglas, and Thornton, but if these three can prove themselves worthy in the NFL, the Pats' wide receiving core will likely be set for years to come. Both of their quarterbacks are also under 25 years old, but I'm worried that neither are currently the long-term answer for the team.

Both Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe might be low-end starters at best. Cole Strange is the young-gun on the offensive line and does feel like a long-term staple for the team. Strange and Mike Onwenu, who is 25 years old, could end up being one of the best guard tandems in the entire NFL.

As of now, though, the Patriots' under-25 talent on offense does not appear to be that great.

Defense: Christian Gonzalez, Christian Barmore, Marte Mapu, Marcus Jones, Josh Uche, Keion White

The Patriots obviously have more players under-25 years old on defense who could be a part of the main core, but this is also somewhat of a projection. Three of the "core" pieces on defense, or projected core pieces were taken in the 2023 NFL Draft. Christian Gonzalez should quickly settle in as the CB1 for the Patriots.

Christian Barmore is an excellent disruptor on the interior and should be a long-term Patriot, hopefully. Josh Uche and Keion White may end up being the starting EDGE rushers at some point in the near future, and I think having two young, talented players at this very important position is an excellent thing for the Patriots.

With Uche being a free agent this year, the Pats might view white as Uche's replacement, but if he puts up another double-digit sack season, the Pats would be wise to re-sign him. Overall, though, I like the under-25 talent on defense more than I do on the offense, which does seem on par for the New England Patriots.
