Trevon Diggs - CB

How can you say no to a young playmaking cornerback?

If the Patriots could accomplish this dream trade for Trevon Diggs, their secondary would likely be the best in the league. Although they may be close to that this upcoming season, with the addition of Christian Gonzalez and re-signing of Jonathan Jones, Diggs is a proven, productive player who will only get better as the years go on.

A second-round pick in the 2020 draft, Diggs has already achieved so much in just three seasons. On top of being selected to back-to-back Pro Bowls in 2021 and 2022, he also earned First-Team All-Pro honors in his second season.

How he has amassed so much success so early in his career is incredible, especially in a division that has seen the rise of the Philadelphia Eagles in recent years.

Since he signed with the Cowboys three years ago, Diggs has totaled 169 combined tackles, 17 interceptions returned for 195 yards and two touchdowns, with 49 passes defended, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.

His sophomore season was the most impressive, as he led the league with 11 interceptions, returned for 142 yards and two touchdowns. Of course, he does have some work to do because, despite the incredible work in turning the ball over, he tends to allow receivers to get past him a lot, which is not a quality you want in a shutdown corner.

However, he's still young and has plenty of time to improve on his weaknesses, and where better to do that than in New England? At least in a dream trade scenario, of course.
