Could the New England Patriots add to their roster with one of these potential cap casualties?

2. Marquez Callaway, WR, Denver Broncos

Very quietly back in 2021, Marquez Callaway had nearly 700 receiving yards and six touchdowns for the New Orleans Saints. He signed with the Denver Broncos this offseason and reunited with Sean Payton, and many thought he'd be a shoe-in to make the roster, but as of now, Callaway really hasn't done a ton to guarantee a roster spot.

Honestly, I would not be surprised if Callaway was a cut candidate for the Denver Broncos, who seem to have Courtland Sutton, Jerry Jeudy, Marvin Mims Jr, and Brandon Johnson ahead of him on the depth chart. Callaway is still in his mid-20s and has good size for the position, so perhaps the Patriots would consider adding a player like this to bolster their WR room, which still doesn't feel that stable.

3. Caleb Farley, CB, Tennessee Titans

This is an interesting one, as Caleb Farley is an immensely talented player but has hardly been able to stay on the field during his first two seasons in the NFL, all with the Titans. He's played in 12 games in two years and the Titans could simply elect to cut him and start fresh here. He was drafted by Jon Robinson, who is no longer the GM in Tennessee, and even though the Titans would take a financial hit by cutting him, they might not have a need for him on the roster anymore.

Right now, according to ESPN.com, Farley is behind Kristian Fulton on the Titans' depth chart. The Titans signed Sean Murphy-Bunting in free agency and also have Roger McCreary as well, who was a high draft pick. Given that Farley can't stay on the field, and probably has no trade value, a cut might make sense for the Titans, and the Patriots could take a chance.

He's a high-end player if he can stay healthy and put it together and could form a nice duo with Christian Gonzalez. Even though the Patriots added Gonzo in the 2023 NFL Draft, I still think this team needs to add some more young talent to the secondary.
