Although nearly every team in the NFL has moved on from the 2023 season into the 2024 offseason, and maybe even a few months ago if you're a team like the Patriots, some fans and players are still reflecting on what transpired last year and trying to make light of a bad situation.

That's what rising star of the defense Jabrill Peppers has been doing recently, posting a hilarious meme to his Twitter account about the Patriots' 2023 season.

In the tweet, Peppers goes along with an ongoing joke about the league being scripted, which, to some extent, feels like there's some merit to the assumption. He wrote the embedded viral video as his reaction to seeing the Patriots' script for last year, which contains a man having a breakdown filled with expletives right as he walks into his house.

It seems like a valid reaction anyone would have if told how the Patriots season would unfold, mainly because of how absolutely unexpectedly horrible it wound up being.

The good thing, though, is that Peppers clearly has a good sense of humor about it. Given how tough he played each and every week, he's one of the few players that fans will give a pass to when making a post like this.

Now that significant changes are happening to the team and so far appear to be for the better, optimism is starting to grow in New England for free agency and the upcoming draft. This has led to many already looking forward to next season, which was not necessarily a shared feeling at this time a year ago.

Hopefully, how they fare in spending their healthy cap space and who they select in the draft will continue that positivity because Patriots fans sure need that right now.
