After shocking the NFL world with an unexpected win over the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 1, the New England Patriots hope to continue that streak by having their first home win of the season when the Seattle Seahawks come to Foxboro this Sunday.
It will be the first time the teams have met since the 2020 season, and their rosters are drastically different in just four years time.
The Patriots played their first season without Tom Brady under center as he continued his career with the Bucs in 2020. Bill Belichick was still the head coach with Josh McDaniels calling offensive plays, and they ended the season with a 7-9 record for third place in the AFC East.
Russell Wilson was still the Seahawks' quarterback, hoping to replicate the team's success during their Championship runs in 2013 and 2014 with Pete Carroll on the sidelines.
Eventually, Newton left the NFL after a reunion with the Carolina Panthers, Wilson had a brief stay with the Denver Broncos before signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers and both coaches are now on the outside looking into with new career ventures elsewhere in the NFL.
They now matchup in Week 2 of the 2024 season with entirely new offenses and coaching staff, coming off hard-fought wins to start the year on the right foot. With similar game plans last week, it'll be interesting to see how the Patriots will fare against a familiar foe on Sunday.
