The New England Patriots have added another wide receiver to the roster. Jalen Reagor was originally a first-round selection by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2020 NFL draft and was officially elevated and signed to the Patriots' active roster.

The move comes after the team waived Malik Cunningham, who has since signed back to the Patriots practice squad.

With Reagor being a first-round pick from TCU, there were big expectations for him. In Philadelphia, Reagor did not live up to the hype, considering he was picked one selection ahead of Justin Jefferson, who is now considered a top receiver in the NFL for the Minnesota Vikings.

A fair comparison of Reagor's time in Philadelphia would be to N'Keal Harry's time in New England.

In 28 games in Philadelphia, Reagor had 64 receptions for 695 yards and three touchdowns. He was also used in the backfield, having 14 rushing attempts for 58 yards. Turnovers were a slight problem for Reagor, as he had four fumbles as well while in Philadelphia. Reagor struggled to get open and catch the ball as well, which led him to be traded to the Minnesota Vikings following the 2021 season.

Reagor's time in Minnesota was severely underwhelming. In his only season with the Vikings, Reagor had eight receptions for 104 yards and one touchdown. He never started a game for Minnesota and was not much of a factor for the offense.

The fumbling issues would Reagor to Minnesota as he had four fumbles in his one season in Minnesota but recovered 3 of them. Minnesota released Reagor in August, and would then find his way to the Patriots' practice squad.

Now, in New England, Reagor has seen the field but not much of it. He's been targeted once in both games he was activated for, having 11 receiving yards with that one reception. Given that JuJu Smith-Schuster and DeVante Parker have had disappointing seasons for the Patriots, Reagor has a chance to make a name for himself on the roster.

Plus, with the trade deadline looming, the Patriots could move any of the receivers as now the Patriots officially have a crowded wide receiving room with seven receivers.
