The second month of the 2024 season is upon us, and the conversation surrounding Bill Belichick's impending return to an NFL sideline continues to be one of the top stories. More and more teams are being added to the list of possible destinations for the legendary head coach.

Plenty of rumors have connected him all around the league, with one of the favorites remaining to be the Cowboys. Because of his friendship with team owner Jerry Jones and his subsequent hint at being interested in hiring Belichick next year, it looks like the perfect fit, especially if he hopes to add the 15 wins needed to make him the winningest coach in NFL history.

But there has also been chatter about him landing with the Eagles, Giants, Jets and even the Bills, assuming all three coaches will remain in the hot seat the rest of the season.

And he might have another option to add to his list, according to NFL insider Albert Breer, as a sneaky AFC team is rising in the ranks as a potential suitor.

Bill Belichick's list of future employers continues to get more interesting

Assuming Belichick is, in fact, interested in returning to coaching in 2025, he can add the Jaguars to potential destinations. It would be a better scenario for Patriots fans, as they would not want to see him hired in the AFC East.

Landing with Jacksonville would allow him to coach in a familiar place since he has a home not far away and take over what most believe is a promising franchise, even if they don't look that way right now.

Breer mentioned that his ties to the organization are already deep, making it seem like an easy hire and transition for all parties and making them a prime candidate interested in his services.

“They’re just a sneaky one with Belichick for me. Tony Khan [son of Jaguars owner Shad Khan] has a real strong relationship with Belichick to the point where, when they hired Doug Marrone full time when they removed the interim tag in 2017, that was largely on the advice of Bill Belichick to do it.

So, Bill has had the ear of ownership in that place for a while now. just wonder if that’s not rattling around in the heads of ownership there now especially when you’re building a new stadium. Not a new stadium, but you’re renovating your stadium and now you’ve got sponsorships to sell, you’ve got suites to sell, all of that stuff.”

It's interesting to see the incredible difference just a few months make. It was just earlier this year when most teams were not interested in even interviewing Belichick for their head coach vacancies due to either a complete disinterest in hiring him or concerns with how much power he would want over the organization after being the head coach and GM in New England for 20 years.

Now, there is a growing list of teams that will likely reach out about bringing him in. So it seems like it's a matter of where he will land, not if he will find a job this time.
