Most interceptions by one player

The current record was set 60 years ago in 1964! Ron Hall. The former Pittsburgh Steeler hauled in 11 during the 1964 season back when the team was still known as the Boston Patriots.

Hall and Asante Samuel are the only Patriots players to get into double figures for a season. Samuel made 10 back in 2006.

J.C Jackson made nine in 2020 and while there was talk about the Patriots re-signing Jackson in free agency that all seems to have fizzled out.

For this record to be broken this year two things have to happen, everyone needs to stay healthy (that’s a common theme) and DeMarcus Covington has to lean into the zone coverages.

Only two teams used more dime defense than the Patriots in 2023 because they have the most versatile safeties in the league. Last year they had hybrid players like Myles Bryant and Jalen Mills too.

In 2024 they will have Alex Austin and the 6-foot-2 Isaiah Bolden to fill those roles. But a healthy Christian Gonzalez will be the key. The 22-year-old has the closing speed to gobble up passes before they reach their target, even when he seems out of position.
