5 tall receivers who the Patriots could still add in 2024
By Rhys Knott
Cedric Tillman
Alex Van Pelt would be delighted to see Tillman in New England. The former Tennessee Volunteer was an essential part of Van Pelt’s Cleveland offense as a rookie in 2023. Since then, the Browns have traded for Jerry Jeudy and drafted Jamari Thrash. That has to throw Tillman’s future into doubt.
The 6-foot-3-inch Tillman only caught 47.7% of his passes in his only season in the NFL. But he averaged 10.4 yards per reception and ran the ball once for eight yards. Tillman was a reliable receiver at Tennessee where he caught 109 passes in his 41 games.
In those 41 games, he averaged 14.9 yards per reception and hauled in 17 scoring passes. Despite his lack of serious productivity, Tillman’s physicality would improve any NFL team.
