Patriots should not draft: Drake Maye

Drake Maye seems to be the majority pick for the Patriots in the first round. Particularly if they end the season with the third pick as they are projected to. However, two more wins seem a long way off at the moment.  

The major problem that stands out on Maye’s game tape is that he hangs on to the ball for an age. He’s very slow to process what’s happening ahead of him. It’s reminiscent of Zach Wilson in a Jets jersey, but in Wilson’s case, he’s playing against professional defenses. Maye looks like he will take a long time to adapt to the increased speed of NFL defenders.
