Jarvis Landry

How the situation between the Patriots and DeAndre Hopkins plays out will determine the potential need or not to add a guy like Jarvis Landry.

If Hopkins decides to sign elsewhere, Landry remains an excellent veteran addition to boost the offense since that appears to be something Belichick hopes to do this season.

Although they signed JuJu Smith-Schuster in free agency, instead of re-signing Jakobi Meyers, the Patriots could use another receiver that consistently moves the ball down the field. Landry may not be the player he once was, primarily due to injury, which has made him miss 13 games over the last two years, but he's a consistent performer when healthy and given the opportunity.

With Bill O'Brien back in the mix, he would surely find a way to utilize Landry's skills while knowingly using him in specific ways only. He's not a WR1 anymore, but that doesn't mean he can't be a contributor or a veteran presence on and off the field.

Not to mention, his last contract with the Saints all but guarantees Belichick would be able to sign him for cheap money, as he played for New Orleans on a one-year, $3 million deal.
