2. Wide receiver

The wide receiver moves this offseason are not paying off thus far in 2023, but yes, it is very early. JuJu Smith-Schuster has played in all three games and has just 66 yards to show for it. Kayshon Boutte and Demario Douglas have combined for 74 yards.

I think you know this unit need some help when the top receiver is Kendrick Bourne, who is a nice third option in an average NFL offense. Point blank, period, the wide receiver room needs to be improved in 2024. It's time the team stops banking on some of these lower draft picks and middle of the road free agency signings to do something.

Perhaps Tee Higgins does indeed hit the market in 2024. This would be a perfect candidate to chase and sign as a WR1. Higgins has put up stellar numbers through three years in the NFL, and would easily be the most talented player on the offense. All of a sudden, pairing Higgins with DeVante Parker, JuJu, and perhaps both Douglas and Boutte, can put some pressure on opposing defenses.

This position is really a first-round need at this point. We'll see where the Pats end up picking in the 2024 NFL Draft. I think it'll be in the top-half.
